Book Club

Hi everyone,

I was looking at my bookshelf and realised that although I’ve wrote a few book reviews on my blog of books that I’ve really enjoyed reading,I haven’t shared some of my other new favourites with you yet which is quite surprising because usually when I finish a book and love it I want to tell everyone about it to make them read it too because it’s just that good…I thought I would do a “Book Club” blog post which I want to make into a bit of a series because I really enjoy finishing a book and telling people all about it and my opinion on it so what better place to do that than a book club and hopefully these posts will also be helpful to people who are looking for some new book recommendations.

1)The first book I have here is “We were liars” by E.Lockhart.Now this isn’t the usual kind of book that I would usually go for because I much prefer teen fiction or something along the lines of a happy ever after. This book has such a big plot twist at the end that no matter how carefully you read it you just do not see it coming (Well I didn’t anyways) …It’s really hard to write about this book without spoiling it but basically there’s a family called the Sinclair family and there’s secrets & lies which all unfold near the end of the story along with drama, love and family issues thrown in along the way.

2)Next up is probably one of my favourites from the book club and it is “Billy and Me” by Giovanna Fletcher. Now this is the type of book which I usually look for in a book store.I am a sucker for a happy ending and a good love story. This was such an enjoyable read and I just couldn’t put this book down,This is everything I want in a book:A happy ending,a love story,a cute cafe,an adorable old lady, friendship and family. It does have one storyline in it which will more than likely make you shed a tear but it does have a happy ending.I would for sure recommend this book to anyone of any age and it is a very easy and enjoyable read.

3)Another easy read is “The Sky Is Everywhere” by Jandy Nelson.I acutally read this book in one sitting because it was just such an easy read but the story was also very gripping because I wanted to see how things would turn out.The story is about a girl called Lennie who’s lost her sister and her mom left when she was just a baby.Everyone is just trying to get through each day and trying to deal with the grief which Lennie and her sisters boyfriend then turn to each other in a way of trying to deal with the grief.I’m not going to say anything else because I don’t want to ruin the book but it is such a good read and I would 10/10 recommed it.

4)A recent book that I have read and wrote a blog post review is “If I Was Your Girl” by Meredith Russo.I’m not going to talk about this one for too long because I’ve already wrote a really detailed blog post about it but this book is about a trans girl who’s moved to her dads town to try and start over where no ones knows her,she starts a new school and makes the mistake of trusting her “friend” with her biggest secret which she later lives to regret because the girl she trusted announces her secret infront of the whole school. It is such an important read and has so many life lessons in it.Everyone can for sure learn something from this very  important read.

5)The final book in the book club is “Looking For Alaska” by John Green.I’m sure a lot of you have already read this book but if you haven’t here is a bit of a background to it.Alaska is the name of a girl who goes to Culver Creek high school. She’s quite a problematic teen who has a good group of friends, one night they’re all celebrating the success of their series of pranks and all of a sudden Alaska recieves a phone call which drives her into a raging mood which then results in her getting in her car drunk, this doesn’t end well.Again I don’t want to ruin the story for you so I will say no more.

They are all of my book club picks for this blog post.I will hopefully being doing another one sometime soon.Hopefully this blog post will help some of you out if you’re on the hunt for some new books.I would also love to know What was the last book you read?

Thanks for reading,

Ciara X
