Book Review:Girl Online Going Solo by Zoe Zugg

Hi everyone!

Today’s post is a book review.I haven’t done one of these in a while so I’m really excited to be reviewing “Girl Online Going Solo” by Zoe Sugg.I’m sure a lot of you have read it or are thinking of reading it so maybe this review will help you decide whether or not you should read it.

Story Line:
Penny needs a distraction after her break up with Rockstar Noah & now that he’s completely gone off the radar she throws herself into her photography. She also visits Megan in her performing arts school where she then meets Callum,a Scottish boy who also shares a passion for photography and Posey,an amazingly talented performer who suffers from stage fright.Penny being Penny of course wants to help Posey but she’s not the only one who needs her help at the moment.Back home Elliot is facing problems of his own and desperately needs Penny’s friendship. Is Callum going to be just the distraction Penny’s been looking for? And can Penny finally move on from Noah?

As much as I totally ship Penny & Noah I really enjoyed reading more about Penny as an individual rather than her being part of a relationship.I feel us readers could really get to grips and learn more about Penny as a person in this 3rd book more than ever because of her break from Noah.We saw her focus on her photography a lot more and really put herself first for once. She made decisions that were right for her and not just for the people around her.I feel Penny really grew as a person in this series.
She developed new friendships and tried to help the people around her as much as she could and she finally saw Megan for what she really was and made the decision to get her out of her life.I was particularly happy about this because I could see as a reader how negative Megan was as a person and I personally don’t like that kind of mindset.I was also really happy that Penny brought her photography and blog to the next level and really made something special out of it all by herself.
SPOILER ALERT:Of course I was super happy when Noah came back into the story and I’m glad that Penny didn’t rush straight back into a relationship with him and I feel their relationship is stronger because of that.

Writing Style:
Zoe’s writing style is really easy to follow and is perfect for people who maybe want to start reading more and younger readers too.I love how she includes Blog posts in the story,I always looked forward to reading them and she doesn’t over complicate things so again really easy to follow along with the story.

As you may or may not know,I love reading teen fiction and romance.I’m a sucker for a happy ending so I can’t fault the book in that regards.I do however wish Noah came back a little earlier so that he could have had a few more story lines although that might have taken away from Penny’s personal development and I think that was a very important topic in this 3rd book.Over all I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I found it to be a real page turner for me.I would highly recommend reading this book if you’re like me and love a happy ending.

Thanks for reading,
Ciara X
